Charitable Gift Annuities
“Tell them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, ready to share.” 1 Timothy 6:7-9
A charitable gift annuity is a gift made for the benefit of any ministry of the Diocese that is created by a simple contract between you and the Diocese. A charitable gift annuity generates fixed guaranteed payments for life to you (and/or someone you designate) while ensuring a significant gift to your chosen ministry at your death. The amount you receive is determined by the amount you contribute and your age; the older you are, the higher your payment rate. After your lifetime, or yours and that of another beneficiary, we use the remainder of your gift for the parish, school, or another ministry you designate when you create the annuity.
- Receive fixed guaranteed payments for life, not subject to interest rate or stock fluctuations
- Tax deduction for a portion of your payment annually, as well as for your initial contribution
- Further the work of your favorite ministry
- You may create a charitable gift annuity with a gift of cash or marketable securities
Most gift annuity donors are retired, want to increase their cash flow, seek the security of guaranteed payments, and would like to save taxes. In today’s low-interest economy, charitable gift annuities provide a means to increase steady income and provide for the Church at the same time.
