Questions for Reflection

  1. What causes you to experience fear or anxiety? Are there ways that you can respond to moments of fear by turning to Jesus like the disciples on the boat?
  2. The three Theological Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Love are central to the way we live our Christian discipleship each day. Are there ways you are being invited by God to increase in one of these virtues?  In prayer ask God to show you one of them to “work” on in a special way today and ask for the grace to do so.

Actions to consider

If possible, make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament at your church and express your thankfulness for the many gifts you have received from God.  If you cannot visit Jesus in the tabernacle of your church, consider spending some time in prayer today to express your thankfulness.

Consider inviting someone who may or may not know about Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament to join you and provide them with a brief explanation along with the invitation.

You may visit this page on our website for listings of locations and times when Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is offered throughout our diocese.  You may also visit Jesus in your church at any time as he is present in the reserved hosts in the tabernacle.

Prayer for the Holy Year of Renewal

Eternal Father, who created and redeemed your holy people, we turn to you in this time of renewal, seeking healing and restoration in Christ.

Holy Spirit, inspire us as we discern ways to make the priorities of the Mutually Shared  Vision our own.
Help us to put the many gifts we have received from you at the service of your mission to “make disciples of all nations.”

Increase in us a desire to live our baptismal call, to be salt and light in the world, and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in our daily lives.

United by faith and made your children through baptism, we ask for the grace to live as One Family: Restored in Christ – Equipped for Mission.
Amen.
