Year of St. Joseph
In December 2020, Pope Francis announced a Year of St. Joseph, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the saint’s proclamation as patron of the Universal Church. The pope also wrote an apostolic letter dedicated to St. Joseph entitled Patris corde (“With a Father’s Heart”).
The Year began Dec. 8, 2020 and concluded Dec. 8, 2021; special indulgences were available for the duration of the year, as are a variety of local events.
Multiple traditions and devotions to St. Joseph exist, including prayers, titles and patronages, and the St. Joseph table for his feast day. Information on these and a variety of resources that include coloring pages, shareable graphics, saint quotes, monthly themes, news and videos are available on this website.
