Message from Bishop Johnston on SSPX
To every family and individual who has worshipped with the Society of St. Pius X: you are not strangers to us. If you attended only for the liturgy and the sacraments, the Church presumes nothing against you. There is no process and no paperwork—come to any parish, ask for any priest, and you will be received with joy.
If you wish to understand your situation better, or seek additional counsel in a confidential manner, there are several priests and laypeople in our diocese listed below who are prepared to help you. If you were married or went to confession at an SSPX church and are unsure what that means now, contact Father Benjamin Armentrout, JCL; it will be handled gently and privately.
The Traditional Latin Mass is offered in communion with the Church in Missouri at Old Saint Patrick Oratory in downtown KC, Christ the King Parish in Waldo (KC), St. Mary Parish in Independence, and St. James Parish in St. Joseph; in Kansas at Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne Parish in Mission Woods, and at Saint John Vianney Chapel in Maple Hill.
The door is open. Welcome.
+Bishop James V. Johnston, Jr.
