May 2022: Clergy Assignments

Bishop Johnston has made the following clergy assignments: assignments conclude June 30 and begin July 1, 2022: 

Rev. Benjamin Armentrout concludes his assignment as Chaplain to the Newman Center at Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph and has been appointed Chaplain to Bishop LeBlond High School, St. Joseph. He retains his assignment as Parochial Vicar of Cathedral of St. Joseph and St. Mary Parishes, St. Joseph.

Rev. Matthew Bartulica concludes his assignment as Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Independence and has been appointed Chaplain to the Abbey of Our Lady of Ephesus, Gower and Pastor of Seven Dolors Parish, Hurlingen.

Rev. John Bolderson concludes his assignment at St. Ann Parish, Independence and St. Cyril Parish, Sugar Creek and has been assigned Parochial Administrator of St. Margaret Parish, Lee’s Summit.

Rev. Jonathan Davis concludes his assignment as Chaplain to Bishop LeBlond High School, St. Joseph and has been appointed Chaplain to the Newman Center at Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph. He retains his assignment as Pastor of St. Patrick Parish, St. Joseph.

Rev. Ronald Elliot concludes his term as Pastor of St. John LaLande Parish, Blue Springs, and transitions to retired status. He continues his service on the Diocesan Finance Council and College of Consultors.

Rev. Donald Farnan concludes his assignment as Pastor of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Kansas City and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of St. Therese Little Flower and St. James Parishes, Kansas City.  Fr. Farnan is also to serve at Rockhurst University as Special Assistant for Faith-Justice at the Alvin Brooks Center for Faith-Justice.

Rev. Terrell Finnell concludes his term as Parochial Administrator at Church of the Annunciation Parish, Kearney, retaining his other assignments, especially as Pastor of Church of the Good Shepherd Parish, Smithville.

Rev. William Fox concludes his assignments at Church of the Annunciation Parish, Kearney, Good Shepherd Parish, Smithville and as Chaplain to the Kansas City Police Department, and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of St. Joseph Parish, Trenton, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Bethany, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Mission, Princeton, with residence at the St. Joseph Parish Rectory.

Rev. Emmanuel Garduño Lòpez concludes his service as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of the Presentation Parish, Lee’s Summit and has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. John Francis Regis Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Leonard Gicheru has been appointed Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Kansas City, effective May 1, 2022, while retaining his office as Pastor of St. Monica Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Devasahayam Gudime is returning to India and concludes his assignment as Pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Trenton, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Bethany, and Immaculate Heart of Mary Mission, Princeton.

Rev. Adam Haake has been appointed Chaplain of Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He retains his office as Pastor of Coronation of Our Lady Parish, Grandview.

Rev. Thomas Holder has been appointed Parochial Administrator of St. John Francis Regis Parish, Kansas City, retaining his current assignments, especially as Pastor of Our Lady of the Presentation Parish, Lee’s Summit, with residence at Our Lady of the Presentation Parish Rectory.

Rev. Justin Hoye has been appointed Pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Kansas City. He retains his current assignments, especially as Pastor of St. Thomas More Parish, Kansas City, and Vicar for Priests, as well as residence at the St. Thomas More Parish Rectory.

Rev. Adam Johnson concludes his appointment as Vocation Director and has been appointed Director of Seminarians, retaining his office as Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Kendall Ketterlin concludes his assignment at St. Thomas More Parish, Kansas City, and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of St. Mary and St. Ann Parishes, Independence, and St. Cyril Parish, Sugar Creek, with residence at the St. Mary Parish Rectory.

Rev. Andrew Kleine concludes his assignments as Chaplain at St. Michael the Archangel High School and Vocation Promoter. He retains his assignment as Parochial Vicar at St. Thomas More Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Alex Kreidler is granted permission to teach courses at St. Pius X High School, Kansas City. He retains his office as Pastor of St. Gabriel Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Randolfo Lemus Arias concludes his service as Parochial Vicar at St. Therese North Parish, Kansas City and is appointed Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of the Presentation Parish, Lee’s Summit with residence at the Our Lady of the Presentation Parish Rectory.

Rev. Andrew Mattingly concludes his service as Chaplain at St. John Paul II Commons at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He retains his duties as Chaplain to City on a Hill and as Parochial Vicar at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Sean McCaffery concludes his assignment as Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Parish, Kansas City and has been appointed Pastor of St. John LaLande Parish, Blue Springs.

Rev. Dominic Duc Nguyen concludes his assignment as Pastor at Seven Dolors Parish, Hurlingen and retains his assignments as Pastor of St. Paul Parish, Tarkio and St. Benedict Mission, Burlington Junction.

Rev. Michael Roach concludes his assignment as Pastor at St. James Parish, Kansas City, retaining his other assignments, especially as Pastor of St. James Parish, Liberty.

Rev. Matthew Rotert concludes his assignment as Pastor at St. Therese Little Flower Parish, Kansas City, retaining his other assignments, especially as Pastor of St. Peter Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Nathan Rueb is appointed Vocation Director, and retains his duties as Chaplain and Religion Teacher at St. Pius X High School, Kansas City.

Rev. Carlito Saballo, SOLT concludes his assignment as Pastor at St. Louis Parish, Kansas City and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of Guardian Angels Parish, Kansas City. He retains his duties at Our Lady of Good Counsel and Visitation Parishes, Kansas City as well as his current residence.

Rev. Joseph Sharbel concludes his assignment as Pastor of St. Margaret Parish, Lee’s Summit, retaining his assignment as Pastor of Holy Spirit Parish, Lee’s Summit.

Rev. Randolph Sly concludes his service at St. Michael the Archangel High School, Lee’s Summit, retaining his office as Parochial Vicar at St. Therese North Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Luis Felipe Suárez concludes his office as Parochial Vicar of Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish, Kansas City and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish, Kansas City.

Rev. Ravindranath Jose Talari concludes his assignments at St. Peter and St. Therese the Little Flower Parishes, Kansas City and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of Church of the Annunciation Parish, Kearney with residence at the Annunciation Parish Rectory.

Rev. Sunoj Thomas, OSB concludes his assignment at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Kansas City and has been appointed Parochial Administrator of St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Kansas City with residence at the St. Charles Borromeo Parish Rectory.

Rev. Paul Turner concludes his assignment as Parochial Administrator of Sacred Heart-Guadalupe Parish, Kansas City, retaining his other assignments, especially as Pastor of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish and Director of the Office of Divine Worship.

Rev. Ed Wills has been granted retirement status by Bishop Stephen Lopes of the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter and concludes his assignment as Pastor of Guardian Angels Parish, Kansas City.

Subsequent to his June 25 ordination to the Priesthood, Bishop Johnston has made the following assignment effective July 1, 2022:

Rev. Mr. Paul Sappington is appointed Chaplain to St. Michael the Archangel High School, Lee’s Summit, with residence at St. Thomas More Parish Rectory, and will assist with parochial liturgies on Sundays at St. Thomas More and St. Catherine of Siena Parishes, Kansas City.
