Corpus Christi Mass and Procession with Bishop Johnston

“Do you realize what just happened”?

Bishop Johnston asked this question to the people present following the June 14 Corpus Christi Mass and Procession. “Do you know just what happened? Jesus walked the streets of Kansas City! He blessed our city and our diocese,” Bishop Johnston stated. This year’s host parish was Sacred Heart-Guadalupe where the Corpus Christi 1:30 pm Mass and Procession began. Four altars were set up along the procession route for a moment of repose and scripture reading. Members and families of the community decorated their handcrafted altars with flowers and golden fabric. The mile and a half procession ended with benediction at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish.
