Religious Emblems Ceremony Held by Catholic Committee on Scouting

The Catholic Committee on Scouting held its annual religious emblems ceremony for youth March 12 at St. Thomas More parish in south Kansas City. Bishop James Johnston presided over the event and was assisted by Fr. Joe Powers, diocesan Scout Chaplain. Boy Scout Troop 601 served as the host unit. Adult leaders were also honored for their service to Catholic Scouting. The National Catholic Unit Excellence Award was earned by Scout Troop 221 from St. Mary in Independence.
