DESCRIPTION:8:15 am March 29 to 8:15 am March 30: Mir House of Prayer (6492 MO-6\, St Joseph\, Mo.) \n8:45 am March 29 to 8:15 am March 30: St. Thomas More Parish in Kansas City\, Mo. (11822 Holmes Rd\, Kansas City\, Mo.) \nIn response to the 24 Hours for the Lord initiative and the diocesan Holy Year of Renewal\, the Office of Divine Worship is co-sponsoring 24 hours of adoration and confessions with Mir House of Prayer in St. Joseph\, Mo. and St. Thomas More Parish in Kansas City\, Mo. \nThe 24 Hours for the Lord initiative was first launched in 2014 by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization. This year’s theme is ‘Compassion’\, taken from Psalm 103:13: “As a father has compassion for his children\, so the LORD has compassion for those who fear him.” \nIn his 2018 Lenten message\, Pope Francis invited the entire Church to “celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation in the context of Eucharistic adoration”. \n“Lent summons us\, and enables us\, to come back to the Lord wholeheartedly and in every aspect of our life\,” the pontiff said. \n“Above all\, I urge the members of the Church to take up the Lenten journey with enthusiasm\, sustained by almsgiving\, fasting and prayer. If\, at times\, the flame of charity seems to die in our own hearts\, know that this is never the case in the heart of God!
