Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you are called in one body.” Colossians 3:15
The pandemic has been a trial of disruption and sacrifice in our lives, yet we remain united in Christ as one family, the Church.
These pages provide the latest guidelines for observing social distancing and other health requirements in our parishes for Masses, Sacraments and Sacramentals; a list of Live-Streamed Masses; At-Home Resources for individuals and families; and videos of encouragement and instruction from Bishop Johnston (see below or on Vimeo).
There is also a feedback form to share a message of how God has worked in your life during these times with the broader Catholic community, or to suggest helpful faith resources.
May God bless and strengthen you during these challenging days and always.
Medical, Moral & Ethical Considerations on COVID-19 Vaccines
As the COVID-19 vaccines begin to roll out in the U.S., we may hope that better days are ahead.
We have seen public support for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines from Pope Francis and the Vatican as well as the USCCB and Missouri Catholic Conference. Many individuals have made their decision about whether or not they will get the vaccine, but others are still discerning it and have unanswered questions.
In the videos below, Bishop Johnston and experts in the fields of medicine, Church teaching, bioethics and medical ethics break down guidance coming from the Church, as well as important medical health considerations. These videos hope to answer any lingering questions you may have, and provide some additional guidance based in Catholic teaching.
